Flashback: Old & new love in Biggie's house

Two couples entered the house having already fallen in love, while others blindly waltzed in, unaware of just how hard they would fall for a fellow housemate.

Ace and Ntombi, the loveable five year long power couple, sharing a child, looked to improve their future, had made it clear that they are as real a couple as can be. The Big Brother game can be intense at times, with unpredictable twists and turns, as well as moments of disappointment and failure. Although Ace and Ntombi bickered and reprimanded each other from time to time, peace and love always triumphed and their relationship came out on top every time.

Khali and Bongi were the new kids on the relationship block, with their fresh three month couple vibes. During their time in the house, they seemed to understand each other quite well, and were never slow to forgive for any moments of miscommunication. Khali was quite a firm and confident woman, and this steadfast attitude was evident in the way she was with Bongi. He seemed to be very relaxed, admiring her strong personality while he himself remained vibrant and chilled. A strong couple, it seemed, but will their relationship last longer outside of the house?

K2 and Blue were complicated from the get-go, and this wasn’t mere speculation. The pair had admitted in countless diary sessions and in personal whispered one-on-ones how complicated their feelings for each other were. After weeks of hesitation and awkward “maybe” moments, Blue finally dumped her “outside” boyfriend on live television and confessed her undying love for K2, and the couple finally became official. They could then enjoy their make-out session’s guilt free, while still treading lightly in order to keep their heads in the game. Only time will test their love as the show came to an end.

Tembi admitted to finding K2 extremely attractive the moment she laid eyes on him, and even though she claimed to love Soxx, some may say that she still had the hots for K2. Perhaps that was why she followed him around constantly, and let us not forget the disruptive talk she shared with the other housemates about Blue earlier in the show.

Soxx and Tembi had quite a rocky start, with an atmosphere of uncertainty. Soxx seemed to pour out his heart and soul while Tembi hesitated and avoided any kind of official branding, possibly because it was still too early in the game to make any commitments that she may later have regretted. But as we know, Soxx was no quitter. He put on his charm and romanced Tembi as best he knew how, such as the time he planned a surprise garden breakfast for her with the help of Mbali. When partnered up, the couple confessed their love for one another, and together became strong competitors in many challenges. Was it for real, or was it part of the game plan? If someone was being played, who was it?

Pumba played the field during his stay at the house, hitting it off romantically with both Tiffini and Chelsea, one after the other. Tiffini and Pumba had a lot in common, making each other laugh and enjoyed each other’s company. However, it did seem to be a trend in the house to hold off on feelings for the sake of the game. Before anything could progress, Tiffini suffered a swift and early eviction with her brother Gino, who also was unable to make any serious romantic advancements, despite his best efforts.

Chelsea and Pumba’s “thing” was pronounced by both of them to be nothing but simple fun; an enjoyable friendship in which they could confide in one another. Once Pumba had been evicted, would he pursue Chelsea or Tiffini after the show, or neither?

The schoolgirl crush that Kay developed for Pumba was no secret, and the jealously that ensued when Pumba and Chelsea were hitting it off was clear. Unfortunately for Kay, this crush became nothing more, but a girl could dream.

Mbali had been quietly sitting on the sidelines, content and happy with her man back home. Although, if she had entered single, perhaps Blue would have had some competition?

Ntombi and Ace, while not openly lovey-dovey, were content with how they presented their relationship. Soxx and Tembi rarely quarrelled and had really upped their game, and K2 and Blue proved their love for one another with their devastated reactions to the fake split during Nonsense Week. As the remaining days passed by, events unfolded and time would tell how the stress of the ever approaching finale would affect these romantically involved housemates.
