Mzansi Magic still mum on Ntombi & Ace arrest

It's been just over 48 hours since former Big Brother Mzansi winners Ntombi and Ace were nabbed by police for possession of drugs in Claremont near Sophiatown.

Police confirmed to The Juice that the duo had appeared at the Sophiatown Magistrates Court on Wednesday and have been released on R1 000 bail.

The couple are set to return to court on 26 March.

SAPS spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini told The Juice that they were nabbed with dagga, a dagga grinding machine and ecstasy, but could not put a value of the drugs.

Meanwhile, reports have since emerged that the duo may be charged with dealing of drugs, which carries a harsher sentence than drug possession.

Despite the media frenzy and widespread debate around the arrest, Mzansi Magic continues to remain mum.

Just hours after news of the couple's arrest hit newswires M-Net Head of Public Relations, Nondumiso Mabece told The Juice that the broadcaster could not comment on the matter because it did not have the opportunity to speak to either one of them.

On Friday morning M-Net also declined to comment.

"There is no comment from our side at this stage," said Nondumiso.

Shortly after Ntombi and Ace walked away with R2m as the winners of BBM 2015, the couple clinched their own reality show on Mzansi Magic.

The reality show aired on the channel for ten weeks but with news of their arrest gaining widespread public attention, the future of a second season hangs in the balance.
