K2 Talks Drugs: I Spent A Year In Rehab

K2 and Blue may have been fighting for their stay in the Big Brother house this year, but for K2 the battle for his life had started many years before.

Talking to CliffCentral's Gareth Cliff this week, the Big Brother Mzansi Double Trouble runner up talked openly about his battle with the streets.

He reveals that his parent's divorce, when he was 7, left him living on the streets and with friends and it wasn't long before he turned to drugs to deal with the loneliness and feelings of abandonment.

“I was still a bit young. I started to rebel in a way. I started to take drugs. I went straight in. The first thing I took was crystal meth. I was on drugs for like 5 months, it wasn’t a long time, but the amount I was taking, the rate I was taking, you would think I had been taking it for a long time. I was taking crystal meth, I was taking cat, I was taking cocaine. I was even taking mandrax ,” he told Gareth.
“It was me feeling lonely. I worked through my problems. I spent a year in rehab,” he adds.

K2 says he has had to be careful not to relapse, which has forced him to leave behind those he once was close to.

“I know I have to keep myself in check but there’s always a just in case. There’s no such thing as a former addict you're a recovering addict for the rest of your life,” he says.

Those cheating rumours

There were rumours that K2's girlfriend Blue was cheating on him with a businessman. The pair have rubbished the claims saying the were started by people intent on hurting them.

"I don't like the fact that people don't see how hard I am working," Blue says."All these years that I've been in Joburg, I've been working so hard."
