The first night saw existing couples enter the house. Ace and Ntombi, in a long term relationship, with a child joined, Gino and Tiffini, a brother and sister team. Soxx and Bexx, a cousins and team team were also joined by newly dating power couple, Bongi and Khali were also joined by ex lovers, Adams and Tembi. Adams and Bexx taking voluntary exit in week four with Soxx being paired up with his on again, off again new love, Tembi.
The five couples spent the first night in the house getting to know each other, not aware that Biggie was bringing in another ten singles int the house, and in the seasons first game style show, the housemates choise their prospective partners.
The housemate who was chosen was given a panel of choices and given a short period of time to choose who they wanted to pair up with after watching a short "choose me" and then given a short space of time to choose who they wanted to enter the house with as a partner. Kay partnered with Pumba, K2 with the royal Blue, Matthias with Sibu, Lebo and Ex and the all girl "Powerpuff Girls" team of Chelsea and Mbali.
From day one Biggie made sure that he kept the housemates guessing and with a theme like "Double Trouble" he had a great deal to work with. Day one had ten housemates and they were in the dark, not knowing that they would be soon joined by ten more housemates. Day two had twenty housemates, ten singles who did not previously know their partners, so they were immediately on the back foot going up against people who already had a relationship. Biggie wasted no time in throwing spanners in the works with games and tasks that challenged the pairs with Biggie making the housemates who won the first Head of House challenge to name and replace nominated pairs in the first weeks fake nominations.
Biggie put temptatiion in the way of the housemates as early as week one where in the Friday night games the dysfunctional pair of Lebo and Ex were offered R100 000.00 to leave the house voluntarily, which they did as Ex made it known that he was not happy with his partner, having been the only person to request a change of partners, something that backfired on him as none of the other partners wanted to change theirs.
K2 had been playing Double Trouble with the girls hearts with his partner, Blue and Tembi being his chief targets. Mbalsea were targeted when they were given a double edged sword when Matthias and Sibu gave them their R10 000.oo winnings. Biggie opening up his kitchen and offering birthday cakes for Ntombi and Khali. This put the previously popular girls in the firing line as they clashed with Ace who, being hungry from being on the liquid diet.
Biggie made the housemates work hard for their money and nobody worked harder than the "Powerpuff Girls" winning challenge after challenge and a fair amount of money too. Whatever happens in the eviction show, they have already won money and can hold their heads high as they have played an extremely hard and smart game.
Sibu and Matthias worked hard at trying to put as many of their opposition housemates on the back foot, even having a spat over material with Blue. K2 and Blue stole the pots to put MAtthias on teh back foot. Gino, always seemed one drink away from mania and as he settled in the game became more and more vocal. His and Tiffini's relationship was very hot and cold and it was evident that they had a great deal of healing to do in their relationship.
Kay considered the red telephone to be evil as when she answered it, it was the bearer of bad news with her and Pumba not being allowed to take part in that weeks HoH challenge as she answered the red phone. The red phone was not alwasy the bearer of bad news, it alsohad the housemates on the radio on CliffCentral. It also brought the housemates to tears as they got messsages from their loved ones.
Biggie's games were competitive with the arena almost becoming a battlefield between Gino and Pumba. Cigarettes were also used againstSoxx and Kay asd Biggie made them stop smoking for a period of time or else lose their wager.
It has been a fascinating season filled with twists and turns, love, fights, controversy. One thing is for sure, it has been entertaining.
