The finale of Big Brother Mzansi: Double Trouble is here

After almost 56 days, the Finale of Big Brother Mzansi: Double Trouble is here. Audiences can tune to the 90-minute show on Sunday, 17 May from 20:00 on Mzansi Magic, channel 161 on DStv. For the three pairs remaining in the game, it’s set to be a life-changing night as one pair will walk away with the huge prize of R2-million.

But will it be long time sweethearts Ace and Ntombi, the Royal couple of Blue and K2 or the girl power duo Chelsea and Mbali? That’s the big question on the minds of the show’s fans and they don’t have long to wait before they discover the answer.

What fans can be certain of however is that the Sunday night Finale is going to be jam-packed with talent as some of South Africa’s leading musicians are confirmed to star on the Big Brother stage. The star-studded line-up on the night includes: DJ Dimplez featuring Dream Team; Dnyts featuring Zihle; Aka featuring Jr and Da Lez. Also in the spotlight on Sunday will be Busiswa. And whilst the Sunday night show is set to deliver drama, excitement and massive good fortune, the entire weekend leading up to the big night and its big announcement is jam-packed with action.

On Friday night, Biggie will host a Masquerade Party instead of his usual Friday Night Games, and along with a string quartet and a beautifully decorated Arena, the remaining six Housemates are in for the stunning surprise as some of South Africa’s leading TV personalities head into the house to join them for what is certain to be a magical night.

And whilst the Housemates will only discover who the celebrities are when they take of their masks later in the evening, the show can confirm for everyone else that the Masquerade guests will includeZabalaza’s Zolisa Xaluva and Matli Mohapeloa; Isibaya’s Nomzamo Mbatha, Andile Mxakaza and Mdu Gumede as well as Clash Of The Choirs Season 2 choirmaster Moneoa Moshesh.

Meanwhile on Saturday night, the weekly Shap Shap party will include some very familiar faces as some of last year’s Big Brother Mzansi Secrets Housemates head into the house to meet, greet and dance with the top three pairs. And fans of 2014 winner Mandla will be delighted know that him and his lady love Lexi will be making an appearance.

Big Brother Mzansi: Double Trouble is building a big Finale, and this past week has seen Biggie keep the entertainment coming. First up there was the prank call to Chelsea asking her to confirm her fast-food order. Then Ace got a call on the infamous red telephone where an ‘angry’ man demanded his money. The Housemates quickly saw the humour in the call and laughter followed as they played along with Biggie’s mischievous joke. Then there were the surprise interviews that the Housemates unexpectedly had with radio station Cliff Central – again, courtesy of the red phone.

And of course, one of the highlights of the week were the emotional and heart-warming calls that the Housemates got from family members and friends – and you guessed it, the red phone was how Housemates heard from their loved ones. It seems the red phone sometimes delivers very good news.

Another memorable moment this past week saw the six remaining Housemates put their hands to work for charity – as they made dozens of sandwiches for a charity organization feeding the unprivileged. The Housemates also spent time this past week picking out some of their own favourite items and gift wrapping them so they could be given to their super-fans who’ve been interacting with the show online.

But now, with just days to go before the show comes to an end, it’s now all about votes. Voting to decide the winning pair of Big Brother Mzansi: Double Trouble began straight after the show on Sunday, 10 May and will close at 06:00 on Sunday, 17 May.
