BBMzansi 2 start date changed, March 22 is the date!

sez2Proving the clear popularity of reality series BIG BROTHER MZANSI, this past weekend saw over 2500 hopefuls, eager for their chance to participate in the highly rated Mzansi Magic hit, head to auditions in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. And whilst some of the wannabe housemates came alone, others came with a partner in line with this season’s call for entry which is open to both individuals and twosomes.

From bold fashion choices and outspoken personalities to gorgeous divas and aspiring stars, the three cities delivered on colourful characters each determined to make an unforgettable impression on selectors who had the very difficult job of shortlisting candidates for the next round of auditions.

“We are very pleased with the positive response that the auditions had and want to thank everyone who took time to come out and participate. Especially considering that if chosen, they will have to give up the comforts of their homes, their family and their friends, possibly for just over two months. It’s incredible to see people willing to take up this truly unique opportunity, it demonstrates how much people engage with this format,” says Nkateko Mabaso, Director for Local Interest Channels at M-Net.

Also commenting on the auditions was Endemol SA Managing Director Sivan Pillay who said, “BIG BROTHER MZANSI 2 offers South African hopefuls yet another shot at becoming a millionaire. We are extremely proud that the Big Brother format continues to excite viewers and prompt participations. The excitement is also building as audiences anticipate the theme for 2015 and what it will offer viewers in terms of on screen entertainment on Mzansi Magic.”

With the first stage of auditions now complete, those individuals shortlisted to proceed further in the entry process will now undergo several audition stages before the final housemates for BIG BROTHER MZANSI 2 are chosen. Among these will be psychological assessments, in-depth interviews with the show’s producers and of course, criminal and background checks.

BIG BROTHER MZANSI 2 starts on Sunday, 22 March 2015 on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) and runs for 56 days. Prize money on the show this year has been kept secret and the only clue is that it won’t be less than R1 million, but it could be as high as a mouthwatering R 2 million! That’s all Biggie is saying for now.
