Dairy: Talk About The Baby Sitting Abilities

abilityDuring the course of the afternoon, Big Brother had a word to tired, sleep deprived and sluggish Housemates in the Diary Sessions. Biggie's baby task basically kept the Housemates up for most of the night, needing feeds and cursory nappy changes. It would seem our Housemates are not up for a full time real life baby challenge just yet.

The entire Big Brother Mzansi house unanimousily conceded that having a baby one needs to be emotionally, financially and psychologically stable The housemats also pointed out that looking after a kid is not for the faint-hearted and it certainly made them think twice about contraception, safe sex and all the secondary social issues attached to unwanted pregnancies.

All attention was on Mzamo who took the spotlight in today's Diary Sessions. Mr and Mrs Phenduka (Sol and Kat) looked like were currently on vacation in the Bahamas, yes you did read that correctly, they're in the Bahamas, if only we were all blessed with their suspension of disbelief. We digress though, the new parents wanted some couple time away and they lumped Uncle Mzamo with baby Phenduka's au pair duties and Uncle Mzamo it appears, is not down with the kids.

Kat expressed her concern over Uncle's baby-sitting abilities and threatened to return from her romantic break with immediate effect if he didn't step up to the plate.

"Biggie, what do I do if it's crying, pat it? Like what do I do?" asked Uncle. "Mzamo", Biggie responded, "you sound as if you're taking your car in for a service". 'Nuff said, Biggie.

When asked how much he knew of Mr and Mrs Phenduka's personal life, Mzamo told Biggie that they're a private couple and keep everything behind closed doors, he's not sure if they're sharing a room, if they're together or if they're experiencing 'marital issues'. He did say that he's not convinced they make a good couple and that Mr Phenduka loves the sound of his own voice; we know Mzamo, he's a DJ, it's a job prerequisite.

After 24 hours of social consciousness required for Social Awareness Week, the Housemates are waking up to the very real issues Mzansi faces. What remains to be seen, is will they feel passionate enough about these causes and pursue awareness campaigns outside the House?
